If you live on the road full or part time, you are more vulnerable than anyone to the dangers of severe weather. And if you live in the US, you are subject to some of the worst weather in the world. The Great Plains are the primary area making up Tornado Alley, home to the most and the largest and the most intense tornadoes on the planet. I love severe weather, but only from a distance, and definitely NOT in my RV. So, as a certified SkyWarn Weather Spotter since 2002, a storm chaser since 2011, and a fulltime RV dweller since 2018, I've created two resources to help fellow nomads stay safe on the road: - RV Weather – A section of my website specifically devoted to teaching road dwellers about how to recognize, avoid and survive severe weather on the road. Consider it a primer, Severe Weather 101.
- Severe Weather for Nomads – My Facebook group, updated daily (and sometimes several times daily during severe weather outbreaks) with forecasts, breaking weather alerts and advice for road warriors to stay safe out there.
